Hi,
I'm trying to do use this to generate xml's for my films before I finally migrate to NPVR and lose Moviewiz. The problem is I'm not getting matches for any films.

All my filenames are formatted like this: 'Casino (1995).mp4' giving an exact match with IMDB and thetvdb names, but when I try to download metadata I always get 'Entry not found'. If I click 'Alternate Hits' then the correct match is there, but I can't do this for 100's of files.

Any ideas?

Hi, I've been having issues getting anything to work the way I like so I tried Thumbgen 1.1.3 to create my fanart the way I like it. Look at the attached images let me know what you think. I ran this on my movie folder and took about 15 minutes to create this for 55 movies I have on NPVR.

Hello dljones8053

I have also tried Thumbgen but what are your settings? i cannot get npvr to accept anything other than a thumbnail image, which is in the format [movie name].jpg that Thumbgen generates its main moviesheets into, but npvr resizes the thumbnail into 320x447 making them totally unusuable.
Is there a way to disable video thumbnail behaviour?

I only check to download DVD cover or poster that is all I had checked so not sure what you have checked as what you asking for. I found this app under advance settings give you a lot of options. Take alook as you see on my main screen I did nto check anything since that is basic settings.

I can see that you also have movie information embedded into npvr, thumbgen generates a metadata file which npvr doesn't natively support, so i was wondering how you got that info into npvr.
But actually i would prefer having the entire moviesheet image embedded into npvr, but the thumbnail image that you also show in your "indiana jones" screenshot is way too small for all the information in a moviesheet image. So the best solution (for me) would be to have a moviesheet image filling the entire info box to the right of the filename, but that probably requires a custom change to the way npvr handles thumbnails.

I would have to agree as how NPVR handle thumbnails, since I used the default that was downloaded also reason I download .nfo is NPVR is not my only client so when I use other apps to play movies I have the .nfo file as well if the app supports it.

It's really not embedded it just another file (.nfo) that has the moving info so it can be used if it is there, NPVR don't support it but not a probelm since it don't pick it up and btw all my movies are on a NAS for all my clients to have access.

If I'm going to spend the time to download all this I grab all the info any app I may run could use.

If you can post an example of the non-supported nfo file format (probably in the support forum so I definitely see it), then I'll try to add it for the next release.

Thanks Sub

I have attached the files that thumbgen created, not only the NFO file also the mediadata file as well so which every one be easier for NPVR to read for you to add, I like options :-)

It is the "Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull [2008].mp4.tgmd" zip file that is interesting it contains a cover image, background image, info and nfo files where the image files are in jpg format and the info files in xml format.
If that data could be imported into npvr database, then it could be transformed into whatever representation that a skin designer or PVR creator wants it to look like. Alternately Thumbgen can generate one static image that contains all that info, but that is nowhere nearly as flexible.
