Hey Wiz,
I like the program for the most part, Just have a few ideas...

I have been having problems with filenames that have a dash in the episode name.
eg. The Sopranos 207 D-Girl.avi
here is the listing for that episode
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesid...7558&lid=7

It would be cool if you could just search by series name and production code.
I hate the IMDB lookup results, (i disabled this by making it so http://www.imdb.com resolves to 127.0.0.1 in my hosts file, but a check box to disable this would be a lot cleaner.

Perhaps adding an url field where you could just dump thetvdb.com address in for processing would be cool.

I can see where the - may cause a problem. The program parses the title assuming the dash (or a pipe '|') is the delimiter that separates the series-episode. Not everyone labels their recordings with a production code, so that may cause problems as well (and the retrieve logic would have to change significantly). I'll work on this type of filename and see if I can't improve the parsing logic for a better hit ratio.

Not quite that easy. The logic to parse the IMDB results is very different from the logic for parsing TheTvDb results. I may be able to limit series-episode searches to TheTvDb, and bypass any IMDB lookup for those. For other entries that do not look like a series-episode, IMDB is the only source, so those would have to stay the same.

what I meant by the production code is when you have to manually try and find the episode because the auto search does not get a match. the production code method would be something you manually enter when no data is found.
this would save people manually creating the xml file via copy/paste from thetvdb website.

A lot of series downloads are labeled as S01E01 or 01x01... it might be an idea to optionally/only parse this format to get better results too.

Use the existing title over-ride feature, let it go to town just looking at season/episode numbers. This eliminates title spelling errors or wrong episode titles altogether.

You could even only document supporting ONE format of the above. There are a considerable number of batch file re-namers out there where conforming to a certain format would be trivial.

After looking at the xml TheTvDb provides, I think I may be able to accommodate this with some enhanced logic in parsing the episode series/Episode name and if a season and episode number is identified, looking up that instead of the episode title.

It may take awhile to get to this, but it is on my list of upgrades to that program (actually it is a change to WizWebHelper and will also enhance MovieWiz and SearchWiz).

^^^ SWEET ^^^

I think relying on season/episode number will get much better hits.
