Well, since I use an HDPVR (analog capture), I on the contrary program directly my STB (since shedule is there anyway), so I ALWAYS use the manual recording. So to completly remove it from the surface of the program complicates things, compared to GBPVR anyway. Majority or not, GBPVR was offering both ways to record, NPVR offers it but you gotta dig for it. All in all it will do, but from a manual recording point of view, GBPVR was more user friendly. Just my two cents.

Thats an odd way to use it. The majority of HDPVR users connected to a STB would still use an EPG, and would schedule recordings from their TV Guide.

Its not so much a case of removing/hiding stuff, but just how the UI works, ie not cluttering the screen up with infrequently used features. Its all still there and easily accessable, but arent in your face the whole time.

I wonder if there is a bit of confusion about the "hidden" part of the menu, it is hidden as in not visible without pressing a key, it isn't hidden as in an unlisted feature, it is well documented on the wiki under Using NextPVR/Keyboard Reference. It also doesn't take any more key strokes to get to than the one in GB-PVR.

Probably my fault, I should have called it "the top-screen menue" :p

I dont use manual record but I did have a play and see its not in tvguide hidden menu
which is where i would thought it should be just in case when you are setting up a recording you want to add more time etc
it only shows under pending

ps still think if you dont have epg data you dont know what your missing ,if you have to pay for the data its worth every penny
