i'll check the event viewer and post later...i did notice that when trying to install Microsoft .NET Runtime v2.0 as outlined on your pre-req page, it told me that it was not compatible with the version on my machine and did not do the install. i believe the cause for that was i already had .NET Runtime v3.5 already on my computer.
Everything else on the pre-req page installed just fine. I also did a complete windows XP update. if anything comes to mind, please let me know.
Thank you very much:confused:

Hello again
I checked the Windows Event Viewer and saw no errors associated with the NPVR install. I did see some errors associated with DVICO Fusion HD TV but am no longer running that hardware or software on this machine although the software does exist on my hard drive. I then tried to install the older GB-PVR and when I thought all was going well I got a .NET Framework error (crash). Please see the attached photo. Any ideas on how to correct this?
Thank you

My suggestion would be to uninstall all versions of .net and then reinstall .net 2.

Hi
It took some doing (long story) but i was able to uninstall .NET framework 2.0 and reinstall it. The nPVR install went fine this time. However, my ATI All In Wonder 9600 (old card-analog) does not show up in devices. I tried to install Soft PVR as per instructions on your site but I get the error below.
Any suggestions on how to get nPVR to see my TV card? Also, do I have to uninstall all ATI software?
Also, whe I try to update the EPG I get an error too: see image 2 below

Thank you.

Hiya bigd,

from the wiki I think this is the problem:

Quote:Please note: The following bat files are configured for installing from WinTV7 v2.2. For other versions of WinTV7 the bat file will need editing (in notepad) to change the version number of WinTV7 that has been downloaded.

I think you have a later version of the WinTV downloaded. What you need to do is right click on the .bat that you have downloaded from the wiki and select 'edit'. This will open it in notepad. Change any reference to WinTV CD 2.2 (or whatever version number it says) in the file to match EXACTLY the name of the WinTV file that you have downloaded. Save the file and close it. Try running the batch file again.

cheers

The ATI All In Wonder 9600 is not defined in AnalogDevices.xml as far as I can see and that's part of the problem. Can you try running Filtercheck.exe, zip and post Filtercheck.log here.

I was finally able to install softPVR by editing the .bat file to match the correct version of WIN TV. Thank you. But still no luck. The program does not see my card. As you pointed out, it is not listed on supported devices. Anyway, I ran filtercheck.exe and attached the log here. Please give a look and tell me if there is any hope for me to use nPVR with my ancient card.
Thank you

Hi bigd,

does this wiki page help?

I think from a quick look at it you need to add something like

<Device filter="ATI Rage Theater Video Capture">
<Name>ATI 9600</Name>
<Type>SOFT_ENCODE</Type>
</Device>

to the analogdevices.xml

cheers
