Have you got the Hauppauge WinTV 7 software working with your card? By working can you receive analog, ATSC and QAM with it?

Also when you installed K-lite did you install the 32bit version? That is the version you need for NPVR, even on a 64 bit OS.

You can install K-lite using all the defaults and NPVR will pick ffdshow up.

You can easily find the location of the logs on the wiki, unfortunately it is stored to a hidden folder in XP. As steeb indicated, forum members like to help, but we do expect you do a little work on your own.

No offense decadude, and I hope none taken. I just have a feeling that you may have bundled a lot into your NextPVR install. I would love to be mistaken. Again any problems just shout, with logs Big Grin

done thanks for the patience no offense has been taken thanks for what insight has been given

i now have working tv and audio w00t

the next problem is the guide lines up with proper channels in proper order but no details for the time frames of what will be playing on the channel for the guide

i used xmltv to pull the guide down and i used the following commands

xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --configure
xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --output c:\TVGUIDE.xml

put the file in temp and loaded it for the analog tuner. really thankful to just have tv this has been a fun project and i do give props to the programmers for their efforts on this opensource project....media portal would not install at all on xp pro 64bit and this would without it i would have no htpc with live tv support so pretty happy thus far

Try clicking the 'update epg' button, with the channels setup via your xmltv file, then zip and attach the npvr.log. I'll check if there is any errors.
