Get the title of recording from a filename:
NScriptHelper.exe -title <filename>

Get the subtitle of recording from a filename:
NScriptHelper.exe -subtitle <filename>

Get the description of recording from a filename:
NScriptHelper.exe -description <filename>

Change the filename of a recording the database:
NScriptHelper.exe -rename <original_filename> <new_filename>

This last one only updates the filename in database. Its up to you to rename the file on the filesystem. Probably best to rename the file before calling this.
Sorry to be a pain Sub, but I need help! I can't get this exe to work. Does it need certain files or to be in a certain place? Is the db3 file location hard-coded in? I've tried putting it in the scripts folder and the same folder as the db3 with no joy. I've also checked .NET 2.0 is working and updated. I also downloaded and copied to the same folder the NUtility dll files. Nothing works! Sad And I tried using the mp4 extension and ts extension. No joy.

I get:-
Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\Scripts>NScriptHelper
-title "d:\Recordings\American Chopper\American Chopper_20110530_20002100.mp4"

Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembl

s dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the as
sembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

Did you try putting it in 'c:\program files\npvr' with the other binaries?

I have no idea why I didn't think of that! It works fine now! Smile Thanks very much mate. I'll update later when I've had time to use it properly in a batch.

It's all working brilliantly now! Thanks very much Sub. Rather than post here as it doesn't really match the thread title, I posted all the files I use here. Hope they are useful to someone.

Thanks as always Sub. You someone knew exactly what I needed with that app! Smile

Thanks to gEd, Sub's way was slightly easier than using your VBS, but it was close!
