Yes, that is a troublesome feature microsoft introduced.

It took a while to carry out all of these instructions. None of these appeared in the Task Manager and I had to look up how to do some of them.

I have reinstalled NPVR 2.1.5 and it runs. I have set up and scanned for channels successfully.

Unfortunately when I try to get live TV I get the message 'Device failed to start'

Reproduce this problem, then post the npvr.log and nrecord.log and I'll take a look.

Just tried again. And again, "Device failed to start".

Hopefully I've attached the two log files requested.

By the way. Until I got this problem, the drive on which the live TV buffer was on ran out of space, NPVR had been working without problem.

Hmm, it looks fine in the logs.

Do you get a file created and growing in the recording directory when you try watching tv?

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you are asking?

Which file? Which is the recording directory?

sub means the live tv buffer directory which you have specified in Settings on the Misc page... it does exist, doesn't it?

The directory exists but there are no files in it.

Nothing at all, even briefly. As soon as I try live TV I get "Device failed to start"
