I am running NPVR on two systems, client system and server setup. I need to re-install the OS on the server system. How do I preserve all of the settings/configuration for the server without going through all of the pain of a fresh install?

Thanks..........

Take a backup of your config.xml and npvr.db3, so that you can restore them after reinstalling.

If you've got plugins installed, you may also want to backup the plugins directory.

For a minimum, you need to backup npvr.db3 and config.xml and copy them over your new install... You might want to backup your Plugins directory too.

However, I would recommend simply making copies of your complete NPVR data and NPVR program files directories - then you can decide what to copy back once your new system is installed.

If you have any batch files that are run from within NextPVR you will also want to backup your Scripts folder

So as ACTCMS said it pays to backup the whole directories just in case you miss something.....
