I added it in knipsel.zip (it's a screenshot):
There has been an un...(?) exception in the program. If you click continue, this error will be ignored...
Unable to make contact, because the target computer, has actively refused the connection 127.0.0.0:8968

At the moment, NPVR freezes all the time when trying to delete a recording.

I completely disabled the firewall. No changes.
I notice the ntray doesn't respond at all.
It's basically the same as yesterday, before putting an old windows image back.

I uninstalled and reinstalled NPVR. Now, when trying to delte a recording, I get another microsoft.net framework noticeConfusedystem.Net.Sockets.SocketException:The software on your hostcomputer has broken a connection. I can continue, but then again another freeze.

UPDATE: in windows event viewer, there are a lot of problems. NPVR crashes, but also windows problems and a harddrive problem. I could fix the windows problems and did a scan of the harddisk, but no luck.
I am now putting the old image on a different harddrive and starting all over again.

I think that message is basically saying the your softcam is crashing the nrecord.exe process.

Have you tried turning off multidec and watch Nederland 1 (unencrypted channel)? That should work first.

When scanning the channels, I didn't get any free to air channels at all! I think the presets to scan for my region ("Brabant/Limburg") may be faulty.
No, I didn't try turning off multidec.

I have been spending hours and hours now getting another hard disc going, just to discover finally that that was an old defect one I forgot to throw away right away.
At the moment I've got the hard disc back that had been in there for the last months (I think it's now maybe 1 year old, a samsung spinpoint F1, 1 TB).
I think I'm really having bad luck with drives and that is the cause on my current problems:

In HDTune I get a raw read error rate of 39, status: failed and 100 current pending sectors with a warning saying I've got 2 unstable sectors.
Last night I was trying to install acronis true image and it seemed that the installation of that program hanged at some point too (now back on ghost, thank God).

I am going to buy another drive, put an image on it and start over again. I'll post the result.
Any suggestions what may be a good drive?
EDIT: it'll probably samsung spinpoint F3.

UPDATE:

With NDAT2 I was able to correct the bad sectors. Some time ago I resized partitions on the drive, I guess that's where things gone bad.
Diagnostic tool from Samsung found no errors. Unfortunately SMART data can't be reset, so I'm stuck with raw read error data FAILED which is not correct.
Samsung offered me a new disc when I contacted them.

So, put an old windows image back. Reinstalled. Got some trouble, but in the end IT WORKS! Got a few issues, but that's something for another thread.

Thanks for the help!

Wim

It DID work the day before yesterday, but it doesn't work since yesterday. Very confusing.

I did everything all over again. It seems that with CI/CAM set to "None" in NPVR settings, the situation is stable.

A few posts ago:

I think he's right. But why?
I seem to have some problems in newcs sometimes "not resetting" of not finding the card.
Could it be a driver or hardware problem of the smargo?

The smargo is being installed through windows automatically. I downloaded an install program, but if I use that one problems get even worse.
I use windows 7, 64 bit. If someone has the correct driver for it, it would be great.

Please help.

Hi Wim,

What version of Acamd are you using? I'm using 0.6.1.4. I've also seen some messages of people having trouble with newcs after a wakeup from the server. I'm not using the Smargo on Windows (see my signature), so I can't help you with the driver.

Hi Chris,

I am using 0.6.1.8, but just tried 0.6.0.3 and that makes no difference.

I've got some questions:
Do I need to edit smartcard.config?
Do I need cardclient.ini?
Is my cardclient.config (newcamd:127.0.0.1:15050:1/0604/ffff:gebruiker1:wachtwoord1:0102030405060708090A0B0C0D0E) correct?
In windows 7, 64 bit windows installer and dotnetfx are supposedly not necessary to install (got that message), is this correct?

With CI/CAM on multidec and tuning an unencrypted channel, NPVR freezes ("please wait") but can normally be stopped by stopping recording service.
And newcs doesn't do anything after "newcamd: main loop" also (did so 2 days ago).

With CI/CAM on multidec and tuning an encrypted channel, exactly the same.

With CI/CAM on "none" everything is normal (tuning of "encrypted channel").

I downloaded new drivers for the smargo, I am reasonably sure these are okay.

Since the card shows unencrypted channels when CI/CAM is set to none, I think the dvb-c card isn't the problem.
Newcs is some troublesome, but I am not sure why. Sometimes when I start it I get reset failed or unknown card.
I think it's the smargo, but I can't test it anywhere.

I posted the logs too, just in case.
