Sub, then how would you explain this ?

When I first change to a new channel and turn subtitles on, then timing is pretty good and on time. After a few minutes of watching if I press pause or if I skip back once, then the subtitles timing goes crazy.

If you make a short recording available, I'll download it and check it out. I may not be able to do anything about it, but I'll at least take a look.

while I upload the recording, please see what I mean in this youtube link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ7pD8JXMFQ

0:30 -- LiveTV - subtitles are in sync, subtitles a tad delayed if anything
1:37 -- you see me skip back to the begining of video buffer
2:00 -- The same clip but now subtitles are way ahead of video and come in quick succession

Edit:mmm , If you look closely at 2:03 ~ 2:04, you will see what seems to betwo subtitle lines appearing ~simultanously on screen and the first one disappearing after a split second. After that point the subtitles seem to be always one line ahead.
The same lines appeared on screen on time at the begining of the clip.

and again another pair at 2:23~2:24 ...

<DVBSubtitlesPESDelay>1200</DVBSubtitlesPESDelay>

Thanks for the patch. I am able to put the subtitles almost in sync with this, but I need ridiculously high value of 7500. When skipping back and forward I still see some earlier subtitles hanging around for a while before synchronization is recovered. The subtitles not immediately followed by new ones still stick a bit to long for my taste.

Just to add to the confusion, DVB-subtitles are working just fine here, I can skip both forward and back and they stay in sync. The problem is the teletext subtitles which almost always are 5-8 seconds early. Will the patch work for teletext subtitles?

BTW: I originally posted this in the support forum...

No, there is no equivalent for Teletext. These are always shown as soon as the teletext page arrives.

Well, my original request was for a fix for the teletext subtitles. Not to complain but this was like asking for a hammer and getting a sissors...Rolleyes

That's exactly why the thread got moved to wish list. ie, cant do it today, but you'd like to see it in the future. The thread then branched off to talk above DVB Subtitles.

Reddwarf,

Sorry for hijacking your thread. I thought problems with the teletext&dvb subtitles were related. But I feel responsible.

Since your wish was noted, shall I put that link to my recording in this thread?
