Sub, is there a plan to support .NET 4 plugins in the future?

It's likely I will move nextpvr to a newer version of .NET in the future, but I couldnt tell you exactly when that'll happen. It probably wont be in the next 3 months though.

W8 will ship with .Net 4.5 standard......

No. Over Christmas I did try moving from VisualStudio 2008 to VisualStudio 2010, which would be a step along the way, but enountered some serious problems. Google indicated piles of people with these same problems in VisualStudio 2010, and no workarounds. I saw some comments from the VisualStudio team indicating they'd fixed these issues in VS2011. So for now I've moved back to VS2008, and will try again when VS2011 is released mid this year.

I'm still hoping to move to .net 4.0. Hopefully it'll be using that in the next release.

That's great news. I know we don't talk dates, but in terms of 1 month, 3 months. 6 months, 100 months, when is the next release likely?

I'm still in the "support of previous release" phase of my typical cycle, so not really doing development for the next release yet. |
