I changed the constant "gDiskHeight" in npvr.js from 49 to 78 (a little more than 50%) - that now shows the disk space bar. Thanks.

I can access the NEWA from work, but at the same time, I can't use this gadget.
It's not well explained how to designate the server. Do I use http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx or just xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ? Does this work with the proxy settings for IE? If not, then it wont work for me at work. At home, do I use localhost for server name? This needs to be somewhere in the documentation, as this is some pretty basic stuff.

I put in the IP address that I use to get to the NEWA page. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. I made sure the port was correct. It doesn't work. Does it use the IE proxy settings?

I have no idea if it honors or works with IE proxy settings.... I didn' write this. cncb wrote it. I am guessing that it does not look at IE proxy settings which would explain why in IE you can get to the web interface but the gadget doesn't seem to work. As for home.... on your server you can use localhost. On network machines you can use the IP of the server or the server name.

Since upgrading to NPVR 2.6.2, the gadget does not seem to recover when the PC wakes up after sleeping.
It just sits there saying Connecting... If I delete it, re-load it, and set the server, it works fine. Any suggestions?

Yes, indeed.
I get the flyout, but it seems to be old data.

However, you can do what I did and use this non-MS gadget application that works well and does support W8. http://nes.bplaced.net/sidebar7.html
