NPVR Web Server crashes (?)

ok,

the recording seems to record fine so far, when i start a second record at the same time. the problem was vlc player, which had obviously problems playing the file. Another player did well (media player classic).
So still the crashes are a problem.

what do you mean with eventviewer.
A windows feature, or of next pvr?

I have now both items checked. Just after starting the computer the service ist not available anymore. Unfortunately this also sometimes happens (besides clicking cancel and surely some other rarer cases).
In the eventviewer i found two entries from the same time (same in seconds, as i can see):

1. Das Zeitlimit (30000 ms) wurde beim Verbindungsversuch mit dem Dienst NPVR Recording Service erreicht.
2. Der Dienst "NPVR Recording Service" wurde aufgrund folgenden Fehlers nicht gestartet:
Der Dienst antwortete nicht rechtzeitig auf die Start- oder Steuerungsanforderung.


i will try to get log entries when the service crashes while or after a request (cancel, ...).

I recognize, this is german, shall i translate?

1. the time limit was exceeded while trying to reach the npvr recording service.
2. the service "npvr recording service" was'nt started for the following reason:
the service did not answer in time to the start- or control request.

Unfortunately they dont really tell me much.

Maybe try running it as a regular process, instead of a service, so that we can see if there is any error message output when it crashes. To do this stop the service, start a command prompt, and run "nrecord.exe RUN", then reproduce the error.

thx, for your suggest. I anyways did already have my own service running, where i start a java vm. From this vm i start now the recording service by a java system call in a seperate thread. This is about 2 weeks ago, and i never had a crash again.
Additionally i am logging all output of the threads. So i could have informed you about crashes and their last log entries, but fortunately this did not
yet happen again!
