I wrote/use imageGrabLite with NextPVR to rename the file to a XBMC compatible format. XBMC can use an edl file too on many platforms.

Does xbmc Comskip with gbpvr? If yes, does it delete all of the crap files?

Thx for the imageGrabLite info. Exactly what I'm lookin for.

Just tested comskip thought it wasnt working because you dont get the black bars you get with nextpvr, but it does work auto skips (although im only testing on netbook packs a bit of a shit and locks up) nextpvr does it better
as for deleting files you can, but i dont think it will clean up the edl files etc

You cant beat nextpvr for funtion in my opinion Smile

xbmc is all flashy but really once im watching a movie or program i dont really need any of that

Direct access to movies (fanart/descripton/etc), Amazon streaming, ESPN3 sports (and, unlike PlayOn, you can fast forward), and Youtube for mindless entertainment.

Hit a programmed remote button, and xbmc exits, back to gbpvr. Even my wife gives 100% WAF.... Smile For me it's the "Holy Grail". Perfect network TV recording, great movie/internet source management. I think I'm done with my tinkering (yeah right... my wife speaking here).

How do you change xbmc so that it only shows the Movies plugin? This sounds really good...I've just got a custom task to a full XBMC setup but this one is much simpler.

First, hide all tabs except for Movies in skin config. Make shortcuts for the plugins you would like to directly access from the home screen. Then, hide the system tab, like this.

I wouldn't think that was a major thing to do (but then I'm not doing it) & then it would cover the missing information that a lot of new users are looking for when looking at new software.

I must be totally blind as it has a link to QuickStart & System Requirements down the bottom of the home page & the Wiki at the top .... maybe I just looked at the tabs across the lower top & didn't find it there..... or I was just more blind than usual on that particular day.... :o:o:o

While pondering what and how to get a remote control working with one of my HP Microservers, I stumbled across voice control of XBMC and might have a go.
(The microservers down to 98 UKP with cashback at present!!).

Hiya Jaggy,

no need for :o these.

I am in one of my rare and benevolent moods Big Grin

I think that this is a very good thread. But a shame that you missed what I think we set out to achieve in the beginning re website.

I believe we did our best to make sure we had many bases covered.

Of course what always frustrates me is the amount of people that cannot even be bothered to read a manual from the grounds up. Or even just flick through it....

As to XBMC integration v interested to see how this may/may not develop Wink

cheers

Now that I have (looked again) found them.... yes you do have the bases covered..... I do wonder if the "Download" tab in the "Home - Features - Screenshots -Downloads - etc." would be better going to the QuichStart link (which has the Download link in it) though?

I do wonder how many just don't find the manual??
