You can use file list instead. Personally, I'm "integrating" xbmc as a movie plugin. It works pretty seamless, but still trying to make sure it does all I want. There's lots of tweaking with remotes and xbmc settings.

I like the simplicity of nextpvr for my family and kids especially. I'm hoping to finish migrating in the next few weeks.
I have been using npvr since it was born (and a little before that actually) and I have never had any problems with thumbnails or fanart, which btw is much better in npvr. The skipping is quite ok now, only exception is in-progress recordings.

I might also add that as a general rule, GB-PVR works better on XP than Vista/7, while NPVR works better on Vista/7 than it does on XP.

It's never worked for me and some others have had this problem. Sub is working on it right now and has acknowledged the problem. Also, it doesn't seem to affect the Recordings plugin, just the Videos plugin.

I'v had gbpvr working flawlessly on Win7, and I can't see why it should not.

If you wanted video insets EVR was a no go and then DXVA was stuffed. There's one example for you...

Not to be quarrel minded, but what practical use do you really have for video inset? Ofcourse there is certain things you cannot do in gbpvr, but if you play it safe it is no witchcraft getting it to run on W7, in fact it did run better than on XP. But again, npvr works so much better Wink

+1, works as well or better on Win 7, and you can use "other programs" as custom tasks! (not forced to used VMR9 FSE for tearing, as with XP).... my 2 cents... .

I'v noticed that none has mentioned PIP as a useful feature in npvr, does it mean thea no one is using it?

@Reddwarf - right, I don't use PIP. NPVR is a record TV/play recordings/delete after watching system for me. Live TV is never used for real TV viewing, that's what the TV is for. Smile It's all about time shifting and commercial skipping for me. No downloaded movies, music, etc.
