Here are the logs for a crash while playing a flac music file. Started about 15:12 and crashed at 15:16 or so. The first stop/start was due to rotating the tablet from portrait to landscape. The player stopped, but restarted OK. Played for a while, IIRC, then crashed. Crash is captured in the log.

Ignore the first log file. Had to stop the service to make the file available to compress.

Thanks - I've had a quick look and may have an answer but I'll have to think about it. Rotating the tablet would certainly cause unpredictable results with this version of nDroid TE - I've locked it into landscape for the next release. The other possibility of a crash might be if the tablet tries to sleep - again I'll need to think about it...

Cheers,
Brian

Hi
I have just installed this app. When I try to run the Ndroid Service Settings I get a Microsoft .Net Framework Exception error

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

I am running windows 7 64bit

I put the app on the Samsung Galaxy(No Proplems) and I get the EPG data but I can't record. I get no option after I click on a TV program
I might have time to play with it tonight
Thanks for the great work so far
Dave

Yes, this seems to be an issue with 64-bit versions of Windows which I haven't worked out yet. You can edit the nDroidSettings.xml with a plain text editor if you need to (e.g., Notepad).

As it stands, nDroid TE is just a "proof of concept" and doesn't do much and is basically just for feedback purposes. I'm aiming for another release later today which fixes a few UI issues (but still won't do much) and hopefully will have something more functional by the end of the week.

Awesome Work!!!
Some things do work though. If you click on video's and you have NPVR pointing to your video folders including your recordings it will play them, but if you go through recordings it will not play.
So it shows it can play ts files.

Yes, the Videos and Music 'views' are basically just copied/pasted code from nDroid v1.8.x so should be functional. I wanted to build the TV Guide views and Recordings views from scratch though so they don't yet have the code to do anything useful.

Brian

Thanks Brian
Just another quick question. With the EPG data, my screen displays the TV programs but nothing current. On my Samsung it is showing 6.50 AM and on the TV guide there is nothing displayed under 10.00AM on any channels (there are lots as I just had a look on NPVR on my computer) It looks like its about 3 hours out Any thoughts?
Thanks
Dave

I'm not sure. I'm mostly using the same date/time code that nDroid v1.8.x uses which should compensate for time zone and DST offsets but there is an issue with the current TE release which doesn't cope with end/start of month changes. I'll post a new release tonight which has a fix although a 3 hour offset is definitely a strange one.

Cheers,
Brian

Looks good!
I'm using a Nexus 7.
  • If I rotate the tablet, it FCs.
  • When I first start, it shows (at the top left) a generic ndroid logo, with a channel of -1 and the rotating busy icon. Things clear up if I pick a channel.
  • I prefer portrait mode, FWIW.
  • The days of the week are TODAY, MON, Tue...Sat. No Sunday, and today is Tuesday. I think its the headings only, as tomorrows programs are under the second (wrong) day name.
  • Program info, here in Australia, is about 2 lines, so there is a lot of wasted space. Could that area be dynamic?
  • I'm on UTC+10, and program times for TODAY are correct, but the first show on each channel starts at or after 10:00. The last one finishes just before midnight. Other days are fine.
  • Should it be indicating shows to be recorded? Its not.

Cheers
