Edit: It's a good idea to store a backup of your database once you have set up your channels and tuners, in case you run into a similar situation again.

I suspect something in your install sequence prevented the database upgrade from running. If you deleted your database, the NRecord would have created a new one from the empty.db3; NextPVR -upgrade wouldn't do anything at that point.
