Deleting an active recording crashes rec service (and newa)

I think this is a bug in the recording service. It's always been hit and miss; at the same time some users were reporting that doing it crashed the recording service, others said they used it all the time. For me the recording service just dies... it doesn't hang, doesn't crash, it simply disappears from the system without a word. At one point sub fixed it, said it was a really tough timing problem causing it. Recently though I've noticed it's back. So I just don't do it. I guess I'll bring up again when we get into testing on 3.2.
