I'll try it out if you can guide me through it.

My first question is which tuners should I use? The HDHR type tuners? Is it correct that it lists them as HDHR Prime when it's really a PLUS?

Second, when I try to use the HDHR type tuners it doesn't find any channels when I run the scan.

I'm not sure how to proceed. Is it broken?

Thanks.

Just use the ATSC/QAM tuners like normal, then try watching a channel and post the logs. The logs have some new messages I want to see.

Unsure if it's working or not. Is there an easy way to tell if the file is MPEG2 vs MPEG4? File size looks about the same so far.

In those logs it looks like NextPVR is detecting the stream as MPEG2 so using that. You'd need to configure you HDHomeRun to do transcoding over BDA before we'd see anything useful in the logs.

I saw a comment on their forums a couple of weeks ago indicating BDA transcoding support is now included. You'll just need to find how to turn it on.

I have the IPTV feature working in version 3.2.9, and it works well. However, I can't get the multi-record feature to work. When I try to start the second recording, I immediately see the 'no tuner available' error. In the nrecord log it doesn't appear that the second recording is even attempted. I have included the log. I started the first recording which is shown, then the log shows the canceling of this first recording. Between these two entries I tried to initiate a second recording, but received the no tuner available error. Is there a config file parameter that enables multi-record?

That is exactly what I'm seeing here.

I guess its possible that the multicast addressing of the IPTV lineup may be affecting the way that the IPTV stream is being viewed. Some systems may utilize a single multicast IP address and then utilize different UDP port numbers to represent the various channels. However, in my system, each channel utilizes a different multicast IP address, which I think is more typical. Could the IP address possibly be the trigger that determines whether a tuner is available or not? Kelly M.

I believe my HDHR is set up to transcode correctly. The default transcode profile is set to internet720.
This is the only thing that SiliconDust talks about: http://www.silicondust.com/forum2/viewto...68&t=17015
It is recording in MPEG2 even when the default transcoding profile is set.

In that log it was delivering MPEG2. If it was delivering H.264, the app should accept it.

As per your thread here: http://www.silicondust.com/forum2/viewto...68&t=16499. The change implemented in NextPVR is basically to look at the stream to determine if it's MPEG2 or H.264 instead of just assuming it's MPEG2 - as per the SiliconDust recommendation.

Appreciate the response.

Question, would I be able to use the channel scan dialog to quickly determine if transcoding is enabled? Meaning would it say H.264 instead of MPEG2 in the Type column during the channel scan if things were working properly?

See screenshot. Thanks.
