Fuzzweed, the EPG via radio times XMLTV (using Alan Birtles XMLTV grabber) is much better than OTA in my experience.
I just grabbed the EPG for CBBC and this is an entry for Chuggington

<programme start="20141207082500 +0000" stop="20141207083500 +0000" channel="UK_RT_483">
<title lang="en">Chuggington</title>
<sub-title lang="en">Blazin Wilson</sub-title>
<desc lang="en">Wilson runs out of water on a special fire-training exercise, and must act fast to find a solution.</desc>
<category lang="en">Childrens</category>
<length units="minutes">10</length>
<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">3.18/26.</episode-num>
</programme>
“If this is the way Queen Victoria treats her prisoners, she doesn't deserve to have any.”

mvallevand Wrote:Thanks As suspected, you don't have any subtitles or season/episode but the description is overloaded with a bit of consistency and I could get some matches for sure. If you are interested let me know, I won't really be able to test it.

Martin

Two possible solutions there, it's a difficult call!

Martin, if it's not too much trouble then getting igl to work with my OTA guide data would be great. Hopefully it may be of use to other UK users, and of course would allow me to run through existing recordings with your sqlite script.

However if it's going to be a PITA for you then I'm happy to go with ged's suggestion of changing to an XMLTV source for future shows.

If you have the time and patience to knock up a quick beta (?!) go ahead, and if it doesn't pan out we can give up early and I'll move to an XML guide.

It's not trouble the regex is trivial

Code:
((C.+?. )*(\d+)/\d+. )*(.+?):

I can even make it a bit smarter by assuming when it starts off with the episode/count ie 4/6 the 4 is episode 4 of the current season

The current logic matching problem I am working on is the really stupid split of the title into the subtitle

Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of...
...Crisps. Nobbly Bobbly: Sitcom about five twentysomethings. Contains adult humour and language which may offend. [S]

Fuzzweed, here's a test version for you, it seems much better at matching with your style of data. It's only 12 lines more code plus some extra debug lines in case you find some issues. Let me know how it goes, I have another beta feature in here but I'd like this ironed out first.

Also if you could record one of "Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of..." episodes and see if renames that would help to see if I got the logic right.

Thanks

Going well so far! 3 peppa pigs and a chuggington showing in XBMC tv shows! Will keep my eyes out for any anomalies and any '...' split titles and report back if I see any problems.
