The specs look pretty good
Look forward to buying a few of these
The faster processor and more ram should make this a pretty damn good client (although in my opinion the B+ is still the best all round client so far anyway)

I see this as a positive rather than a negative Martin as this will hopefully fix the issues people didnt like about using the rpi as a client without having tweak it.

Same as you Martin - I got one for Christmas and only just got round to playing with it as a replacement for a PCH. My initial thoughts were that it was a bit underpowered - so I should have waited.

Hey ho - not exactly going to brake the bank

Maybe the current experience is based on the number of stations. I have 200+. When I wake me backend up, sometimes on startup my backend will go to sleep while the RPi is still loading stations. I have a default 5 minutes too that is too long in my books. I am turbo'd as high as I can.

yeah i guess thats where the difference could be mine starts up from the main screen into newa in about 5 seconds and from there on its good as.i dont have any pvr addon enabled they just kill the speed rss feeds are off and most cover art type scrapers are turned off as i dont need them in xnew.I do have a few addon i use outside of xnewa but i make sure most background stuff is not running.
using xbmc on a pc is only slightly faster.

only have 20ish channels

I was talking the PVR Addon, x-newa is much faster to start up when needed.

Well, I'm impressed how well x-newa runs on the Pi.
Not so impressed with navigating kodi for installing and configuring it though. I'm not sure I could find my way back to the x-newa config screen!

For x-newa I added the icon to the main menu so it is one key, but you can also autostart it. You can also select sub's PVR Addon as the startup menu option if you'd like.

Just got home from work to see my new Rpi2 arrived from RS Big Grin

I fired it up using the same Raspbian SD-card a had for the B1.
It's noticeably faster than the B1 but not lightning fast.

I will play with it this weekend to see if it is any good.
