In Windows it's only really protected mode software like drivers that can cause a system to reboot. If it was NextPVR itself causing a crash, it'd just cause NextPVR to crash.
Just because you notice it when you started using NextPVR probably just means you're now exercising a driver you weren't before, or NextPVR might be using a feature of the driver that wasn't previously being used.
Often when Windows reboots it'll add crash information to the event viewer specifying the faulting module etc.
