NPVR Analog Channels not working with Set Top Cable box.

As for tuning, I too have Comcast, but I don't use any of their analog channels. The SiliconDust HD HomeRun Prime does a fine job of capturing HD channels (except the DRM'd channels like HBO, Showtime, etc. We use WMC to record those.) and integrates with NextPVR perfectly. Sub even added a few tweaks for this device in his latest release that make it even more awesome. Also, the picture quality is amazing with this tuner.

I would second HarryH3's comment about the HD HomeRun Prime being an excellent device choice for your situation. With it, you don't need any STB from Comcast because it uses a CableCard to directly decrypt Comcast's channels. Therefore you don't need any IR blaster (and the associated unreliability). And you don't have any loss of quality due to "analog-in-the-middle" conversions. And, you get 3 tuners so you can watch/record 3 different channels at the same time! Plus, I think that it is much easier to setup in NextPVR.

THIS BUG IS JUST COSMETIC!!!!

I finally decided to have a look in the database after creating an analog channel - the channel is in fact properly created with the correct fixed channel. The bug is only in the display.

to update your xmltv file automatically, you just need "UpdateEPG.bat" in npvr\scripts. All it needs to contain is:

(obviously change the path in the first line to wherever you put mc2xml)
npvr will call that batch file first when it updates the epg each night, then it will expect to find updated data in the xmltv.xml file.

no, all the channels you've deleted will not come back every night; it's not re-importing the channels each time, it's just updating the epg data for the channels you have.

- I type "121" which is my DIY Network channel. The Comcast set box receives a red pulsation from the Hauppauge tuner card (which I assume is the signal to change the channel), but nothing happens. The text data on the screen changes to "DIY" and the current program details (ie., "Yard Crashers"), but the signal received is still Channel 3.
- then type "5", which is my local FOX affiliate. I get the same response. The text data on the screen changes to "FOX" and the current program details (ie., "Gotham"), but the signal received is still Channel 3.
- Where can I go to look at and possibly edit the channel lineup data?
- Where do I tell the Hauppauge IR Blaster what signal command to use for changing the channel? In Windows Media Center, this works flawlessly.

These just sounds like whatever blaster you're using isn't configured for your set top box. This is external to NextPVR.

The data is in a SQLite database called npvr.db3. You should be able to make any alterations in the NextPVR UI though, without having to fiddle in the database.

The Hauppauge IR Blaster is configured in the Hauppauge BlastCFG utility.

to be clear, I only suggested editing the npvr.db3 when I thought this fixed-channel issue was a real bug. Now that it's been revealed to be cosmetic only, you shouldn't be considering messing about in there.

your remaining issue should be sorted once you configure your blaster properly in the Hauppauge BlastCFG utility. NextPVR has no involvement at all with your blaster aside from providing a mechanism to call a program to change the channel - configuring that program is up to you.

I have had the same problems with setting up NextPVR with a Comcast digital box. I found a solution. The only difference is that I use Schedules Direct, and not XMLTV. See my post at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...tme+warner.
