This seems to be a W10 glitch?

I noticed in Windows 10 that when I set a task to trigger the start of NPVR upon bootup, the task bar is always present, thus requiring a refocusing with a pointing device. The remote will not work with NPVR until NPVR is focused and the task bar minimized. This happens every time. This does not happen in Windows 7.

So it seems that in Windows 10, starting in 'full screen" mode is not quite full screen in this situation for W10.

Upon further testing, I believe the issue is purely an issue with W10Task Scheduler. NPVR works perfectly at Windows startup if initiated via the startup directory.

Windows 7 also had issues losing focus it's not a new thing
You need to make shortcut and have it -ontop

In target box in shortcut
"C:\Program Files\npvr\nextpvr.exe" -ontop
This is for x86(32 bit windows)

Then link all start-ups to this

I am not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but here goes, LOL. When I found out that Windows 10 would no longer support Media center, I searched for a solution and chose Nextpvr as the "back end" and KODI. Before I upgraded, I made sure they were working well together. For the past month, they were doing well. I finally upgraded to Windows 10, was using Windows 7, and I am now having an issue. KodI was not displaying the TV functions like it did before. I opened NextPvr and tried to view Live TV directly thru it, and I receive the following message. "Unable to communicate with recording service". All was working before the upgrade. I chose NextPvr and Kodi, because they looked like the best solution to replacing Media Center. Any help I can get to solve this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think this happened to me once right after WIN 10 upgrade. I think I had to unplug and replug the HDHR power supply to fix it.

and if that doesn't fix it try running the HDHR setup program and make sure the setup program can still detect your HDHR tuners ok.

Thanks for the info. But this may sound stupid, but what do you mean by the HDHR power supply. If that is in reference to the TV tuner, I am using a tuner that connects to an USB port and does not have an external power supply. I am using the Hauppauge 950Q tuner on my laptop. Not sure if that makes a difference to your suggestion or not.

Just saw the edit to your post, I have gone into the setting of NextPvr, and check devices, it shows the tuner and I went thru and re-scanned the channels and they were all found. So, it appears that NextPvr is finding the device for that, just not viewing.

I just restarted the NPVR recording service. Had to find an MPEG2 video decoder as the old one had gone missing with media player.

Where did you find it. Is it something that needs to be downloaded?
