Before sub releases a patch I'd say you'd need to upload logs. The blaster not firing would not give a blank screen unless the STB was actually off, normally a failure to run would be analog static or another channel.

We have not been using NPVR for awhile since it is not reliably recording.
Actually the wife made a comment yesterday, so I am trying again.

My STB actually powers off after about 4 hours of being used and it does not see any input from the user.
So my blaster routine sends the OK code to wake it up. This part does work.

But if the blaster script does not get called, then the STB does not wake up.

I am getting an error when trying to upload a zip file with the logs.
Database error
The NextPVR Forums database has encountered a problem.

Please advise,
Paul

Hi: I am still getting the error when I try to upload the logs, but I think I understand what is going on.

With the latest firmware on my STB, it will shutoff after aprox 24 hrs if no activity via the remote.
I think that NextPVR does not trigger the blaster if the channel is the same as the previous recording.

Is it possible to configure NextPVR to always run the blaster when changing channels?
For now, I re-enabled a daily script that does a 1 min recording on an obscure channel using schedule.exe

Are you runningb the current 3.7.7 release? It'll run the blaster even if it's the same channel as last one tuner.

Thanks for the reply. I am running 3.6.6 so I will download the new version on the weekend and install it.

Actually my settings will check online for new version at startup, but perhaps this new version is not being pushed down yet.

NextPVR will tell you when there is a new version but it will not do anything to download or install the new version ... You have to do that yourself.

Thanks for the replies. I have installed the new version, but am noticing another problem.
I am able to upload the logs now, so I have just added the new logs.

Basically we want the closed captions. I noticed that there was a change listed in the change notes.
We are not able to see the closed caption when I select that option in the playback.
Any ideas?
I did go back to v3.6.6 this morning and it works in that version.
Not sure yet if I will leave on the new version or go back to the backup.

Please advise,
Paul

Thanks. I installed the two files. I had to stop the recording service for one of the files.

Still no change when I toggle the captions.
Note that I have the Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD10) selected for my MPEG2 Video Decoder.
I tried the other decoders, but was not able to get one to work and also have captions.
Thoughts?
