No Martin, it is I who is afraid to post any additional question to this forum. I was going to ask what Isengard was, because I have absolutely know idea, but I'm sure that you'll be your usual asshole self and make some smart ass comment about not posting whatever logs you feel that I didn't post.

Now to the administrator Sub. I am running both the latest NextPVR version, 3.5.7 and the latest OpenELEC version 5.0.8. I'm not sure what version of Kodi is in OpenELECT 5.0.8. I couldn't find anything within OpenELEC telling me what version of Kodi its using. Was this fixed in NextPVR, or within OpenELEC?

Thank you

Daryl

Sorry, I don't know what version of Kodi the various builds of OpenELEC use. You'll probably need to check the OpenELEC site for info on this. As Martin mentioned, it sounds like you need Kodi 15.0 or above to get this fix.

OpenElec 5.0.8 includes Kodi 14.2. The next major version of OpenElec (6.x) will include a version of Kodi 15. (It hasn't been determined for sure yet whether it will be Kodi 15.1 or Kodi 15.2.) You can download the latest beta of OpenElec 6 (which is listed at OpenElec 5.95.5) now. I've been running it for a week or two now. That includes Kodi 15.1.

One of the nuances on the package builds like OpenElec in the Kodi version and the pvr.nextpvr addon aren't always linked. The best information will always be the Kodi.log with debug logging on as it the shows the pvr.nextpvr version number This info might be available in the GUI too what we are looking for is version 1.10.5

Thank you Brett. I've been looking at OpenElec's website trying to determine what version of Kodi is in v5.0.8, and what I need to do to upgrade the Kodi to v15.x. I'll try the beta OE 5.95.5 and see if that resolves my issue. Do you know if I can update via my current installation of OE, or do I have to download the update file? I don't see anything within OE that allows me to update. I see an option that allows me to check for updates. I click on that, but it just come back to my screen as if there is nothing available.

I would suggest making a copy (or image file) of your SD card first. Then you can download the appropriate "Update File" from the OpenElec download page. There are installation instructions there for doing the update. You put the update file you download into an updates (I think that's the name of the folder) on the OpenElec SD card and reboot. It will then apply the updates to get to the new version.

Brett,

I just want to give a quick update.

I wish that I could say that upgrading to OpenElec 5.95.5 worked, but it didn't. I did a few test recordings, and none of them showed up on the Pi after the recording was completed. I had to reboot again to get them to show. The biggest issue that I have with having to reboot all the time is because every other reboot causes corruption and I have to rebuild the pi. I've gotten really good at rebuilding it, and can do so rather quickly, but I'd rather not have to.

I decided to try using OSMC instead of OpenElec. Hopefully I'll have better luck.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate ti.

Ive been using rpi for ages now never only had one corupted card. What brand of card you using.I only buy SanDisk class 10 or better

If card is getting corupted sound like something is trying to write to the card when you reboot/crash it
Make sure shares are working properly
See if you can transfer file back and forth from each device
Have you tried the x-newa addon.it works great.

I too have a number of RaspPi's and have only had 1 SD card get corrupted over the last 2 or so years. In fact, I have one of my PI's setup to auto-reboot daily (cron run reboot command). How are you restarting your PI's? You can corrupt them by simply unplugging the power supply, either run reboot from ssh, cron or from the Kodi gui.
