Microsoft MS DTV-DVD no longer works for me

I have two PC's one Windows 10 Pro v1607 and the second is Windows 10 Home v1607
Funnily enough after update KB4013429 installed NPVR works OK on the Pro machine but not on the Home version!!!
For anyone wanting a fix until Microsoft sort it out you could try this.
Download Microsoft's Show or Hide Updates tool from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...windows-10
Uninstall KB4013429 from Update and security/Update History/Uninstall Updates and then immediately run the "Show or Hide Updates Tool" before Windows Update tries to reinstall KB4013429 again.
This should stop the pesky update from installing and get NPVR working again.
It fixed it for me.

I'm using Win10 64bit, and taking C:\Windows\SysWOW64\CompPkgSup.dll back to the previous version worked fine here. (note, I didn't bother reverting the file of the same name in C:\Windows\System32).

The old files should be backed up on everyone's systems that updated You want the .0 ones.

The wow64 version is 32 bit and the system32 version is 64 bit unless you are running 32bit and then it is 32bit. Confusing as hell.

You would need to backup the 64bit one for 64 bit apps like the HDHR View that is failing.

It works after I changed MPEG2 and H.264 decoders to LAV Video Decoder. I'll wait till MS to fix their bug before I change back to MS codec.

Surprisingly my recording still worked last night. It just the issue with live TV.

LAV is not a good choice for MPEG2. Also according to Silicon Dust there is no problem with h264 anyway not sure if that applies NextPVR.

Recordings won't be impacted by playback bugs.

Yes, but for now my live TV works in NextPVR and I did not wanted to undo the big patch with many long time due fixes to solve one little problem. I can wait till next month for an other patch.

Same here, live tv works and I've done nothing but video won't play without crashing. For now I'm using Media Player Classic and Plex to play recordings
I didn't expect live tv to work as the HDHR W10 App does not.
I hear MS expects a fix tomorrow but who knows.

If you don't skip live TV you probably are okay. As for next month that should be the Creator's Update who knows what that will bring.
