Can you provide a link where I can download the version of CompPkgSup.dll that you are using?

If you are talking about your initial post about the recording service not starting that is a different problem as I posted this morning.

As Martin said, this is related to the Microsoft MPEG2 decoder crashing, and nothing to do with recording service not starting, which is what this thread was initially discussing before changing tack.

Unsurprisingly uninstalling KB4013429 got everything working for me, but it took ages and was 'using a sledge-hammer to crack a nut' - wish I had waited and seen Sub's post with a different version of CompPkgSup attached first - a much simpler fix! Another program that stopped working for me after todays update is something called 'TurboVhelper' but I have not idea what that is - only that I get errors popping up for it :-)

It's not related to original topic. This is for live TV issue.

It works after I changed MPEG2 and H.264 decoders to LAV Video Decoder. I'll wait till MS to fix their bug before I change back to MS codec.

Surprisingly my recording still worked last night. It just the issue with live TV.

I have an interesting situation. NPVR installed on 2 machines. One machine has NPVR installed on a WD harddrive, the other machine has NPVR installed on a SSD. After I updated Windows 10 this morning, NPVR continued to operated without a flaw on the machine with the SSD. On the machine with the WD hardrive I am no longer able to play live video or recordings.

Do you have them both set to use the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder? ie, it's only problem if you've got it set to use this. If you're using some other decoder, then no problems.

Like mitul above, I changed decoders, MPEG2, H.264, to LAV and everything's fine now. I'm not sure that I'll ever switch back.
