I'll take your word for that, but I didn't manually put those poster.jpg files in those folders. If they aren't supposed to be there, where are they supposed to be?

OK, I can see now the posters that were showing are in C/Users/Public/NPVR/Media/Shows. So, why when I select Metadata in the Video section are the showname.jpg files not going there. Or, more importantly, how do I get them to go there as they used to?

Usually the application only downloads artwork for recordings. As pointed out though, it can be made to download are in the Video section if you use the 'metadata' menu option. Did this create your xxxxxx_poster.jpg files though?

One of the changes from XBMC to Kodi with the change from folder.jpg to name_poster.jpg (plus name_othertypes.jpg). Depending on the source of a video the meta art might be downloaded with the video, or external scrapers could create it.

I've always used that 'metadata' option in the Video section. Evidently it has always put those in the "C/Users/Public/NPVR/Media/Shows" but is not doing so now for some reason. That's where the Sat Night Live poster is that you saw in the screen capture. I suppose I can manually rename and paste the poster.jpg in the video folders to the NPVR/Media/Shows folder but it would obviously be much nicer if selecting the "metadata" menu option just did that as it has before.

All of the folder/file entries in Video are captured and placed by Sonarr after having been downloaded by SABNZBD. Sonarr adds the nfo and jpg files in the Video folders.

Are you actually able to reproduce it, and see it creating that file when you use the 'Metadata' menu option? I've just been checking it out and cant see the behaviour you're describing. I can see it downloading to media\shows

I've tried several times using the 'Metadata' option and then checking media/shows. The .jpg file does not show up. I'm trying to see whether Sonarr can scrape a showname.jpg file for the Video folders. That would be one way to solve the problem.

That wasn't what I was asking though - was it creating this name_poster.jpg your video directory? I'm trying to determine if NextPVR is making that file or not.

I did find an error in 'thetvdb' art grabber, which would cause the attempts to use the 'metadata' menu option to not download any art work. It's corrected in this patch.

No, 'Metadata doesn't appear to be doing anything, either in the Video folder or in the Media/Shows folder.

See above - I'm guessing the artwork in question was from thetvdb
