Normally an 'Import' is the equivalent of adding with the type 'Internet Source-IPTV', which causes the data to be streamed a slightly different way.
sub,
I have used the ADD command for a single channel, and set it to H264 and it makes no difference; it still repeats every 30 secs or so.

What you describe is what I did. Look great until they start 'looping'.
not sure what this means, but as a test I tried recording a bit of the stream instead of watching it live.
when I played it back, it only played around 10 secs and stopped; probably around the point it would have repeated.
when I played the same recording in VLC, it played the entire 1:30 mins, but it still would repeat.
These streams that stop every 30 seconds, and require the player to re-request the next stream (and behind the scenes use a 302 redirectsto another url with security token) are pretty nonstandard, and an oddball approach to security the stream. They should work though, but it has to do some quirky stuff to make it appear as a contiguous stream to the player.
If you make a c:\temp, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NPVR\ LogNetPush=1 (DWORD), then try watching live tv for a minute or so, then post the c:\temp\netpush.txt, I'll check what is happening.

I sent you a PM with a list of m3u8 channels. You can import that list (the link I sent) and they will show up as channels. Some of those don't work from the import. However, if you really want one of those channels, delete the channel from the import and replace it by copying the m3u8 file from the list. That will work. Most of these channels don't appear to be looping.

As you said, the looping doesn't seem to be a problem with these channels, however the selection isn't very impressive at all.
It does prove the point that it can work better for us, but probably not with any free IPTV lists, unless sub can come up with a patch.
