If you want to do a wireshark capture of 4.1.0 and the current release, I'm happy to take a look, to see if I can see any significant difference. I couldn't even guess what kodi is unhappy about.

Sure, I can try that. What's the safe way to downgrade.. uninstalling 4.2.2 and then installing 4.1.0?
Lol, everything is coming full circle now. The only reason I switched to Kodi is because NextPVR doesn't handle switching between AC3 and AAC streams for live TV with an HD-PVR2 and IPTV. (I always get the "missing audio? you dont have a decoder" message after changing channels even though I have the decoders, so I have to exit playback and come back in).
So I can use NextPVR and exit back to the menu to change channels, or use Kodi and switch channels quickly but not watch some of my channels.
edit: On a hunch, I disabled the firewall and real-time virus protection in Windows 10, and now everything seems fine in Kodi. So maybe it was some Windows update that actually caused the issue!

Still have the same issue unfortunately.
Also I spoke too soon about Kodi working, so I'm back at square one. I'd rather focus on the NextPVR issue right now though since that's the core program and others would benefit from that fix.
One new data point: now in Nextpvr, when first starting playback of an IPTV channel with AAC audio, I get a message straight away that I don't have an MPEG decoder, but audio still works. (before the patch, I would only get these messages upon channel change)

Logs attached. I started by watching live TV via the HD PVR 2 (with AC3 audio), then switched to an IPTV chaannel with AAC audio and the popup message appeared. I then exited playback and started playback of the IPTV stream again, and it worked fine.
That actually looks like you don't have the patch installed. I'm not sure if I posted the wrong file, or you didn't install it. Let's try it again. Here is a current build of that file.
