The 'Microsoft DTV-DVD Vedeo Decoder' is often non-functional for MPEG2 (unless you've paid for and installed the Microsoft DVD Player).

Try installing the LAV decoder from https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters...taller.exe

Installed LAV and changed everything on the Decoders page from ffdshow to LAV which seems to have had zero effect on the latest error of "Unable to find available capture device." No crash report.

I don't think you should be running NPVR as a client when you run on the same machine as the server.

Perhaps you should reboot after making that change and if you still can't access a tuner upload your new logs.

Thanks Martin. Rebooted. Still get the immediate "Unable to find available capture device" error.

I'm not sure what action you want me to take with "I don't think you should be running NPVR as a client when you run on the same machine as the server."

NextPVR has two components 1) The NextPVR Recording Service runs all the time and connects to tuners and makes recordings and so on ... 2) The NextPVR front end that you see on screen and where you change the NextPVR settings and view the EPG and so on.

Typically, NextPVR is installed on one computer and both components run on that one computer. In this case, the Client option at NextPVR Settings --> Devices should not be ticked.

Thank you for that clarification. The "Act as client PC" box on the Devices tab is not/has not been ticked.

Recreate the capture device problem and them post the logs telling us the time that you saw the message so that we know where to look in the logs. Thanks.

By "logs" do you mean the crash.mdmp? If so, this error isn't producing one in the temp folder.

Go to NextPVR Settings --> About and click the button to zip the logs and attach the zip file to a post ... telling us what you did and the time that you did it. Thanks.

"Logs." Got it, thanks! See attached.

At 14:40 I [again] clicked "Live TV" and immediately got the "unable to find available capture device"
