snaitaz Wrote:@jrockow Of course I would share my config files for USA and UK. Give me a minute to setup at mega.nz and i will pm you the creds...Cheers!!

If you don't mind, I'd like to see an example of a working setup for WG+ for the USA. I played with it a while back since MC2XML is not explicitly supported for SD, but I think I never really got it working.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the info was very helpful to get me started.
I just need to spend some time creating my own setup; there's a fair amount of customization that can be done.

One quick question; how does SD play into the WG+ setup?
I guess I assumed that if you used WG+ you didn't need to use SD.

BTW, I tried the merge thing in MC2XML and it worked fine with a WG+ output file.

I originally started using SD but when I discovered it limited me to 4 channel lineups aka regions, I knew I had to look for something else since my channels span more than 4 regions. Which is why I started using MC2XML then EPG123 and finally WG+. For me WG+ has been the one that allow me to gather my EPG data from more regions. Currently I do not need/use SD.

On your MC2XML merge did you merge the channel list of the EPG list? I could never get MC2XML to merge the EPG list but it did work great for merging the channel list. Fortunately, the method I use currently does both so I don't need to use so many tools.

I thought I read somewhere there was an SD ini file that was used with WG+, perhaps not since you say it's not needed.
It's early days for me and WG+, but my first test seemed to be rather short on program info.
I'm sure it's just my lack of knowledge of WG+ at this point.

My test was with the EPG (XML) files and it seemed to work fine.
However, as I stated earlier, you can't simply merge 2 XML files; you must actually be grabbing one of them and include (-I option) the other one at the same time.

Yes, there is a SD config file locate in the siteini.pack and then international folder. But the biggest issue I have with using SD is that it limits how many regions/channel lineups you can have active at one time in your account. Since I use more than four SD would not work for me as an option. Therefore, I use WG++.

Good Day...Ahh yes i missed your part of grabbing and using the -I option. I am aware of that and I did use that when I was using that tool. However, just using the merge technique I am using now and WG++ eliminates that part of the process. I pull in my channel list first then go through that list to pick out the channels I want an EPG for. Then I load that list into the config.xml file and launch WG++ to get the EPG. Once I have created all the EPG's I want, I run that combine tool and it merges all my EPG's into 1 EPG file. This saves me a lot of time and resources instead of grabbing and creating the EPG for what I want as it is very extensive and takes more than 3 hours of time when I ran it the first time just to gauge how long it would take. Now I just run everything from a batch file including the combining effort. Very smooth and fast.

Cheers!!

I wouldn't have a problem with the 4 lineup limit of SD, and I need more info then I'm currently getting in my UK grabs, so I think I'll look into the SD option.
Also, I have a little routine I wrote that does some extra juggling of the XML file before I feed it to NPVR.
If I can use the SD config hopefully the same routine would work on the UK data as well.
Again, thanx for all your help.

Good day...You're very welcome. There is also another tool/process that I used to use with MC2XML that would look at the channel list and rename the channel_id to whatever was in the SD channel list so that it would map itself upon completion instead of doing the manual mapping. If you already are aware of it then you probably are using it.

In addition, if you are going to be using SD exclusively then take a look at EPG123 which works very well with SD. This tool really cuts down on the grab time plus it allows you to pick the channels you want before the grab. So if your total grab has a opportunity of 17,000 channels, using EG123 you can get the specific channels you want say like 120. very cool tool and easy to run. Cheers!!

Not aware of the channel mapping tool; what's the name?

Since I haven't invested much time in WG+, I'll take a look at EPG123 also.
