It's not a total waste, there is an error in your setup that shows up in a few places.

Code:
2019-08-12 10:01:08.340    [ERROR][16]    Unexpected error parsing channel EPG source: System.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing.
   at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Exception e)
   at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.ParseDocumentContent()
   at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Read()
   at System.Xml.XmlLoader.Load(XmlDocument doc, XmlReader reader, Boolean preserveWhitespace)
   at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(XmlReader reader)
   at System.Xml.XmlDocument.LoadXml(String xml)
   at NUtility.Channel.GetReadableEPGSummary()

I think it is related to this

<genre>fitness & health</genre>

but I don't know what the events xml table is.

arrbee99, if you can supply your npvr.db3, I'll check what it doesn't like about that channel that Martin showed the error message for above.

Is that the older one in the NPVR folder or the newer one in the NPVR-data folder ?

The error I saw was in v5 logs so that would be NPVR-data

btw, it would be nice, I think, if it was possible to play a channel under the localhost thing even if there's nothing in the guide. Think you can do that in nextpvr.exe, but not in localhost.

I don't think the error is in the database, I think a whole EPG block may not be imported because of the fitness & health genre not getting loaded. The error I pointed at might be something else like gaps in the guide.

That specific error is related to loading summary information about the channel.

I just loaded it up in the debugger. The error related to the EPG mapping of five of the channels using DVB EPG.

The channels that were broken were: The Edge, Te Reo, HGTV, ShineTV and Prime PLUS 1. It's not clear why these DVB EPG channels have a problem and the others are ok. Do you remember doing anything specific with this channels? Had you tried changing the mapping to XMLTV or anything else that might have gone wrong?

Aside from that error with the EPG mapping, Martin is right that the logs also show it complaining about the <genre> in some of the TV listings. The attached updated Unmanaged.dll should fix it.
