I just double checked here, and with no artwork services enabled, it's not downloading any artwork. It will still use artwork that has been downloaded previously though (from the directories I mentioned earlier)

Hi,

No artworks are present in C:\users\public\NPVR\media\shows or C:\users\public\NPVR\thumbs when i do test.

This is a detailed step :

I uncheck "Enable downloading", use the "Clear cached Artwork" button (Shows and Thumbs folders are cleared) and click on OK (all services are disabled) :

I open a program in NextPVR Guide. No Artwork is displayed (normal) and an xml file is downloaded in Show folder :

I open NPVR settings, check "Enable downloading of metadata"; all services are still disabled, then i click on OK :

I open the program in NPVR Guide : artwork id displayed and a jpg file is put in Shows folder :

I check the log, it says "Downloading metadata and artwork took +277ms" :

Code:
2019-09-23 09:08:09.905    [DEBUG][11]    Got poster
2019-09-23 09:08:09.906    [DEBUG][10]    Downloading metadata and artwork took + 277ms
2019-09-23 09:08:09.906    [DEBUG][10]    entity@1:C:\Users\Public\NPVR\media\shows\Téléshopping.jpg
2019-09-23 09:08:09.906    [DEBUG][10]    Got it new artwork

Am i missing something ?

This is a wild guess ... Is NextPVR downloading files based on information from the EPG xmltv file?

Hi Smile

I made a test : i changed an image link in my xml file with a link found on internet (a flower) : the image (from the link i put manually) is displayed in NextPVR :

So : images links in XML are used by NextPVR, even when none service is enabled.

It is a good thing Smile

But i have a little issue : it seems that NextPVR download the first image linked it found for a series, and use it for others episodes of the same series, even if the image is different in the xml file (another link).

Thanks

Ok, so if i understand, it is normal : it download only one art by serie.

Is it planned to offer artwork for each episode ?

Did you see that ? You thought NextPVR wasn't using image links in XML file but it does. Have you an explanation ?

I'm pretty sure it's not even looking at the <icon> tag in an xmltv file, since none of my xmltv files have this.
