Well no more exceptions Sub, but now the 'i' button doesn't do anything on live video

Just curious - what are you expecting it to do when you press this?
When I press Ctrl-I here, I get a popup over the video with channel name, video codec, and resolution. In your logs it looked like it was trying to show video in window, which isn't supported at this stage - and was the thing I disabled.

In 4.xx the 'i' buttons behaviour was generally to show the previous menu screen, eg if you were on live tv you'd jump back to the guide, while the stream continued to play audio only in the back ground, and pressing it again took you back to live tv. That worked ok, you could change channels or just go back to live tv quickly.
It was a bit different in videos where it would take you back to the previous file selection menu but with video running in a window overlayed on the right. That one got a little squirrely as you couldn't jump back to full screen video and you had to jump back with the back arrow to the home menu. This sequence might be what you saw in the logs. An easy/better option for the "i" button could be to just toggle the bottom info overlay?

Could you map Ctrl I to F1 and get the OSD guide?

The standard MCE remote already has a guide button that I notice shows the guide overlay.

Ok hopefully that will help.

The 'i' button is also know as info/more button, so that's why I though the bottom overlay toggle might be intuitive (and easy* given it already pops up with any mouse movement)
*ie Easy as in easy for Sub to implement

I finally managed to find a IR receiver for an MCE remote, and was able to reproduce the issue.
I've changed the keyboard mappings for the next build, so that you'll get the show/recording info OSD when you press this 'i' button on your remote. (like you've shown in your screenshot above)

Cool, Thanks Sub!
