Reinstalled version 5.0.7 and guide now only shows "new" for correct "New" programs instead of all programs showing "New" in version 5.0.8

You probably need to send a a public link to the XMLTV file if the patch sub provided didn't work for you in 5.0.8

With xmltv, since the vast majority of sources have no idea if a show is new or not, NextPVR has to assume all shows new unless the xmltv file explicitly states otherwise (<previously-shown/> tag). It only trusts the <new/> tag for certain xmltv sources/generators, where it knows this information is complete (like "Schedules Direct" or "zap2it" or "zap2xml"). Other xmltv files either never have this info, or only have it for a splattering of shows, or only certain channels, in which case it's safer to assume everything is new (so that recurring recordings like 'record all new episodes' will default to recording if it doesn't know for sure).

Generally I just recommend people untick the 'highlight new shows' checkbox unless they're working with a good EPG sources that has complete coverage of this information for every show (like Schedules Direct). I'm pretty sure your Australian xmltv file will not have that quality of data.

I can't access your file without requesting access, so I haven't looked at it. Next time, just post a public url that doesn't require this access request.

Sorry about that. Thought I had created a public viewable link. Public link to file is

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yjLLB-S...sp=sharing

It looks as if the difference between 5.07 and 5.08 is that 5.08 treats

<previously-shown /> and <previously-shown start="2017-12-22" /> differently.  5.07 treats them as not a "New" airing of the program.

I agree that that should be not new. The problem with that flag is the spec says the absence of that markup doesn't mean new so sub still needs to mark everything else new which can't be trusted.

This updated NShared.dll will fix an issue where the <previously-shown /> tag wasn't behaving correctly in 5.0.8.

Hi, I am using NextPVR 5.08, Raspberry PI OS 64 bit and this patch does not seem to work for me. Is there anything you have to do to make it work in the Linux world. Thank you. I have attached my tvxml if you want to see my previously-shown tag. This Tvxml file was working in version 5.06 of NextPVR. Please note that this version of the Raspberry PI OS is only a beta version - it is the only way to get the 64 bit version of Raspbian (Raspberry PI OS) right now.

The forum only takes zip files under 2MB otherwise you need to provide a link to some online storage site like OneDrive Google drive, Dropbox. No passwords and on sites with no annoying ads.

Sub recently added support for the Silicon Dust PVR EPG data having multiple display names for auto merge. Perhaps that broke the new flag. Otherwise it should work.

I am always looking to see other Ottawa list for US channels. I don't get any but my neighbor can get PBS with a higher antenna.
