Here you go.

I only ticked the first five HD channels (presumably whether it does it for 1, 5 or 200 is the same?) so I only had to resort those five.

BBC One HD
BBC Two HD
ITV HD
Channel 4 HD
Channel 5 HD

DVB-T (digital) television in the UK (and, I suspect, elsewhere) broadcasts on specific frequencies.  The available frequencies has recently reduced so that some frequencies can be used for mobile phones.  The reduction process was referred to as the "700 Mz clearance" because TV broadcasts were cleared from frequencies in the 700Mhz band.  That process has finished so we are now "Post 700Mhz".

All Countries / All regions scans every possible frequency looking for TV channels ... The specific regions scans only the frequencies used by your local transmitter and is much quicker than All Regions.

What region and transmitter are you at?

I've found out it's Ridge Hill Smile

There's two ridge hills, I've selected Sept 2020 (instead of March 2018).

The earlier one would have been the frequencies/muxes used before the 700Mhz clearance and the later one would have been after (probably).

So what generally goes wrong when you rescan? ie, do you end up with duplicate channels, or is it just the channel numbers changing? If the latter, are you using your own custom channel numbers, and it keeps changing back to the defaults that the broadcaster uses? (like channel 101 for 'BBC ONE HD')

The latter. No duplicates.

For instance...

I'll change BBC One HD to number 1
Do a rescan
Hit save
BBC One HD is now back to number 101

Its doing this intentionally. It's basically logic to automatically keep the channel numbers correct when the broadcaster changes them. In this particular case, it sounds like you're not wanting to use the broadcaster channel numbers though.

Is it many channels you're using different numbers, or just BBC One HD and a handful of others?

I could look into adding config.xml setting to not update channel numbers of existing channels during a rescan.

I've rearranged all of them Smile

So many of the +1 channels are not next to the original channels I've rearranged all of them. Any functionality to stop rearranging or even make the rearranging better than typing in absolute numbers for all 200 channels would be so much better. Maybe a way to drag the order of the channels instead of typing in the numbers (like you have on the devices page).

Hello, could I just ask what the plan is with regards to this? Will you add a setting to not update channel numbers of existing channels during a rescan?

I'm intending to put a setting on Settings->General, ticked by default, which says something like 'update channel numbers during rescan'.
