Sorry, I don't mean to sound ungrateful !!! I know you are doing this for the benefit of everyone else!!!
I currently pay for Emby, but HATE the convoluted remote access login process. Additionally it doesn't seem to handle IPTV quite as well as NextPVR appeared to do, and they are not as responsive to comments/requests as you are. Emby does pull the guide data fine, but the recordings seem to completely give up if there is even the slightest issue with the stream, so I ended up with lots of recordings only capturing the first few minutes. These same channels seemed to play fine though when not recorded. Hardware acceleration works great too on my GTX 1650.
Jellyfin has a much more appealing remote access/login procedure for me but their IPTV is also completely broken at the moment. Recording IPTV seemed slightly better but again for some reason NextPVR felt more reliable.
My plan is to use NextPVR to handle IPTV recording and drop recording where Emby/Jellyfin can access. This seems to work well since I don't change the streams I want to record very often so using a different app to control recordings is OK with me.
My frustration is that I am sooooooo close to what I consider a great setup/configuration but just not quite there.
Anyhow, just wanted to let you know I am really grateful for your work on NextPVR.
I will send you my details so you can investigate in more detail.
BR,
Steve
