Lockup when a recording ends

i experience the same issues, have same setup, but 512Mb RAM. Recently it has been more stable, with the occasional crash, but not sure what i did to fix it (sorry). There's been lots of posts on the net about it, with no real solutions. But generally it is recommended to limit the IO as much as possible -have you tried using low/med quality settings when recording? Any other IO-intensive processes running? AV-scanners, that sort of thing? Check you havent picked up some trojan - give it a good check with Ad-aware/Spybot every now and again.
