Localhost Not Working

No. This was a clean installation using NPVRSetup.exe. All previous NPVR files, including those in Program Files (X86) and Users/Public/NPVR were deleted.

One thought that comes to mind is that I have Internet Information Services (IIS) running on this machine to provide a local web server for an Internet radio on my LAN whose aggregator server shut down. Could IIS interfere with the operation of localhost?

I am not sure it is clean since you have old NPVR.log's for earlier this year and there is config.xml information for both SD and IPTV guides.

Stop the service and delete npvr.db3 and config.xml and restart.

The bindings for the Default Web Site just show '*' on port 80 for http.

If in any browser I go to localhost:80, I see the IIS splash page. But localhost:8866 shows the 500 error message in Chrome and Edge, and a blank page in Firefox.

You were close when you posted "All previous NPVR files, including those in Program Files (X86) and Users/Public/NPVR" were deleted. It is now NPVR-data.

OK, found them! Thanks.

Stopped the service, deleted the two files, restarted the service. I see that recreated the two files. No change with localhost:8866, though. Still produces the same error.

In the Systray, the 'N' icon is gray, and right clicking and choosing 'Status' just displays a blank window.

Do you have C:\Temp if so is there are an install something or other file?

Also is there a possibility you have NTFS drive compression turned on? That would be a problem.

No, Martin. There is no C:\Temp folder, and I do not have NTFS drive compression enabled.
