I'm kind of surprised anybody used the old mouse controls, and doubly so that anyone would use it as their primary method of viewing. They mouse controls were always terrible, and very much an after-thought in the original OSD stuff.

In the early testing of the new controls I originally had buttons on the screen for short skip, but they seemed kind of pointless at the time, and just uglied the screen up.

Sub, I think if you get double click on thumbnails working and the mouse wheel working as left right in video playback it be a huge improvement Mouse back already works perfectly for stop, stop people just like to complain.

I don't see the difference between find a mouse and remote though, NextPVR has always been best with a remote.

Do you have secondary mousewheel on your mouse? Mine does for horizontal scrolling next to where my thumb sits. For the next build I've wired it up to work and fixed the thumbs not being clickable. It actually feels a lot nicer than I expected.

It was great. I didn't have to look over my distance glasses for a sequence of buttons on the remote, I would move the mouse, the OSD would come up and I could do everything without taking my eyes off the screen. As I said, I'll just restore my previous archive and get back to 6.

I don't think multiple wheels aren't that common, but I find with yauiclient it worked well for skipping was and worth giving up scrolling and mouse channel changing. Now with double click working it should be very good.

re "I don't see the difference between find a mouse and remote "

I put my hand on the mouse and the left button is under my finger instantly.
If I put my hand on my remote (A WMC style), yes, my thumb falls on the ok button, but the << and >> buttons I really do have to look for.
I bet there are hundreds of different remote layouts.
All the mice I have ever used have had a left button and respond to movement. Ideal for selecting something on a screen.

Are left and right arrows immediately either side of that ok button? they should be easier to find than >> and allow you to navigate through the thumbs, and ok to jump to that location.

All remotes tend to make up/down/left/right/ok easy to access, and these recent changes make NextPVR better at fitting in with that.

I use the dpad arrow keys for most basic navigation and skipping, yes I've pick up the remote upside down sometimes but I don't recall having to look at the remote to do this. Yes trying to find short and long key is it harder (which is why my uidroid client has long press keys) but I also like number keys for surfing, navigating and skipping too.
