I'm kinda confused as to the exact operation of the plugin. There is a global tab, but I'm not quite sure what that does. For some reason, the plugin detects a MAC address for the first MVP tab that's not the same as the what the plugin says on the TV connected to the only MVP on my system. Could that have something to do with the way my router is configured? So, I manually put in the MAC address given on the on-screen plugin in the MVP2 tab. It seems that if I change those values, it does indeed change the screen position, but I'm not sure what the other two tabs (global and MVP1) are doing then.

Also, I can change the screen size or screen position, but it seems like the position of the entire GBPVR screen only takes two positions- a little too high or a little too low- regardless of what values I put in. Do the X screen size and X screen position settings depend on each other somehow (meaning if I change the size, the position is somehow dependent)? It seems that I've tried every possible combination of pixel settings, but either the top is always a little cut off, or the bottom is. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

First set the size too small, like 600x400. Then work on the x&y offset until the top left is good. then increase the size until the right and bottom is OK.

Let me know if that helps.

40days,
The global setting is for any MVP's that are not setup with a MAC address in the config file.
I belive the issue with MVP1 not having the right MAC is GBPVR just places a default on in the config file and it needs to be change.
I just discovered this issue so my plugin will not change the MAC address.
For no just add another with the MAC adds displayed on the screen.

Check out this thread
MVP Screen Position V.6
It will display a box on the screen that can be moved around to try and get the best setting.

Thank you very much for the new version. It might be worth noting somewhere that it is a good idea to put the settings in the plugin on the computer much too large to begin with, and use the plugin on the MVP to get smaller. I found this out the hard way. If the original settings are too small, i.e. 620x440 or something like that, the Screen Position plugin will not reach the edges of the screen regardless of what you do, because the original settings are restricting it. So, if you start out with a much larger screen size, you can bring the yellow bars in and find the optimum placement.

As you can see, the plugin is telling me the height is the same as the width. I'm not sure if something is conflicting between the global settings and the MAC Address settings, if that is irrelevant, or what. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Mine seemed perfect, I was only off by 4 on the height.
I deleted the mac specific part from the config.xml, and only change the global.

Could if be that your TV can actually handle that resolution? It looks like a Sony Wega? I know those are very nice!!! But I wouldn't think that the MVP would output that high.

Try wiping out the MAC specific part of the config.xml (Back it up first!).

There is a good chance I have a cut and past error when it is reading in the MAC address setting. I did not email the code to me at work this time (opps). I will look at it when I get home tonight.

40days, I do not know what tro say. I double checked my code and it looks fine. I tried it on my MVP and it works fine. I even made another MAC address so there would be two in there and it still worked fine.
What happens if you use that setting for you MVP?
Any one else have this problem?
