I thought as much about the plasma, one thing he did mention that concerns me a little, is that NTL are going to be updating all their STB's to Samsung units. I hope the new unit will work with a USBUIRT. We shall see.

yes you have a leter model, the early ones were 1000/2000 series, yours is 4000.

I hadn't heard that they were planning on changing them, but would expect the new ones to work with the USBUIRT, it is the older STB boxes that don't.

Hmmm, some interesting things in here!

REFERENCE: I have PVR350 + remote.  1st time PVR - using GB PVR (donwloaded & installed today 26-Nov)

From what I gather...

The IR Remote that comes with PVR350 can be used to control GB PVR (i'd try it buti'm waiting on the IR lead being delivered - was missing from box!

Also, you can use Girder + the Redeye Serial device to control your Pace STB.

My Questions...
Is the above correct?
I assume there is a way to output to the Cable box when you switch channel in GB PVR?
I assume that scheduling also switches channel for you?

Please advise.

If you have GB-PVR configured to use the Girder plugin, it'll request channel changes whenever it is required (live tv channel changes, or scheduled recording channel changes).

One more question (possible feature request)

Does GB PVR support winlirc (without girder)?

I've built a simple transmitter which works with my cable box (Pace 4000).

If it does support winlirc directly, then how do i set it up / integrate it (plug in?)?

If not, I believe this will be simple enough to impliment - any chance of some one picking this up? (the transmitter is very simple - just about anyone could make it - so this could be usefull to a lot of people) Additionally, the source for winlirc is available & best of all, its free (unlike girder).

Sub, could this be implimented as a plugin? Is the mechanism there to do this? Or would it have to be "built-in"!

It'd probably need to be built in. That said, if you want to send me some source code that shows how to do it in c#, you'd probably move it a few notches up the priority list.
