tweaking comskip results - is this do-able?

I actually found that this works for me:
max_brightness=60
test_brightness=55
max_avg_brightness=20

Thats a good idea, I'll add the quality coax cable that you have suggested to my list of items as I re-build my pvr system.

I actually just put together a basic low cost so-so quality system to see how a pvr worked. This included whatever home Depot was selling for standard coax cable and a cable extender adaptor, I'll bet the adaptor is causing some signal loss.
I have decided to upgrade to a 250gb drive, and a video card that is directx9 compatable possibly some RAM and do it right.
I did notice some gold plated connectors among the cable selections at home depot.
