Sorry about that, I wasn’t sure if anyone was using that style of rating or not.

Quote:When I say movie rating I mean PG, PG-13, R, etc. For TV shows these are below the description. But for movies they are in the title line.
Movie search for “ {PG”, using the native search plugin, or EWA.
But any or all of the movie switches can be disabled.

But is there a way to put them in the same place is they are for Tv shows, under the description, instead of the title line?

Not using I-xmltv.
EPGExtra might do it but I'm not sure.
<edit> I'm not sure, but you may be able to do it with a skin setting change, best to ask sub or a skinner.

Without using the TV listings plugin, how does the V1.3 upgrades work with the standard TV guide listing?

I've got the Find Channel as a second EPG channel but it only finds something if its in the show title for me. The "find more" doesn't do anything else for me except just go into the "genre" that I selected.

Is this supposed to be a manual entry into the ini file for adding things like cast, description, etc.

How about adding a priority recordings function like Xrecord?

ThanksSmile

About the only v1.3 change you’ll notice using the regular guide is cast and crew in movie descriptions. The FIND channel is an option added for TV Listings, and can only be used if TV Listings is installed.

Were you using TV Listings when you had these results? If so, when you did the “find more” using TV Listings, were you choosing “By Genre”?
Genre listings in the FIND channel will have "–Genre-" at the start of their description.

garetmax Wrote:Is this supposed to be a manual entry into the ini file for adding things like cast, description, etc.
No, cast & crew information is automatically added to the descriptions using information from the epg download.
<UseActorAsGenre></UseActorAsGenre> & <ConditionalGenre-#> are search functionions and completely optional.
UseActorAsGenre searches the cast and crew in every listing, and if the actors name is found, it is added to the genre list for that show.
And yes Big Grin, configuration changes in the ini are done manually using notepad.

Remember TVGuide.xml is just an epg file, not a program that interacts with gbpvr.
I’ll post some screen captures showing how the new features work with TV Listings and X-Record. And some examples of how they can be customized.

But first we need to make sure the find channel & genre search is working properly (using TV Listings) on your end.

I'm not actually using the TV listings plugin yet. I have GB-PVR 96.08 running right now as that is the latest version that I can get Xrecord and priority recordings to run on. I was told the TV listings plugin doesn't run with version 96 so that is why I haven't installed it. I really like the features that it has along with I-XMLTV so I do really want to get it going.

My number-1 use of Xrecord is the priority recordings scheduler.Big Grin I can't live without that. The other function that I really like is to search by genre with Xrecord and Zaptools. However, ever since I installed I-XMLTV, the search by genre stopped working.

I'm thinking about trying to run the priority recordings, (CDK scheduler), as a standalone program without Xrecord and zaptools and upgrading to the latest GB-PVR and using the TV listings along with I-XMLTV. Does anyone have this combination working?

Thanks

I’m not positive, but I believe Xsearch needs to populate a special “external” database using ZapTools before it can genre search.
GBPVR stores the genre list in its native database so I have no idea why XSearch doesn’t use it. Any program that reads the list from the GBPVR database will work just fine, TV Listings and the Enhanced WebAdmin are two that do work. ZapTools should NOT be used with I-xmltv.

The X-Record suite does work with v0.98.8 (I’m using v0.98.8), but it needs some patches. See posts 12 & 21 in this thread.

Thanks Jim,

I've been holding off on upgrading again, but I'll probably try next week.

I'm going out of town this weekend so I won't have time just yet.

You’re welcome, and have a good trip.
I believe the X-Record wiki package is going to be updated this weekend, so you probably won’t need to install the patches when you return next week.

The primary reason for the "b" update, is that I documented the new “I-xmltv.ini” settings and features in the manual.

I also added a new feature that allows you to exclude up to (30) show types from having “New” added to their genre list. It was added because I didn’t want shows like "soap operas" and "game shows" listed when doing a "New" genre search.

From the change log.
Code:
I-xmltv v1.3b  (build 10/20/06)
INI option Added:   "<DoNotAdd-New-ToTheGenreList-ForTheseShowTypes>" Allows you to exclude show types from a "New" genre search. Example: <NewExclude>Soap</NewExclude>
INI option Added:   "<Add-New-GenreEvenIfPreviouslyShown>True" If the option is set to "False" only the first showing will receive the "New" genre. Note: this setting does not affect the new marker "*".
Note:   If you are upgrading from an existing I-xmltv install, the "EvenIfPreviouslyShown" option will be disabled until you also update xmltv.exe. A link to the latest “xmltv.exe” is provided in the included "xmltv download link".
Update:   "ReadMe-NOW.txt" with the latest I-xmltv.ini customization information.
