Psycik- breakthrough!
It must be my embedding software. I was just by accident scrolling around and I found a 12" dance single that showed album art! It also showed it on WMP which I had never seen before. It's a song my cousin sent me last week so I'm not really sure where he got it. I'm going to play around with different embedding software and see how that goes. It really wasn't anything in ML2 was doing - or if it was, the art readers are looking for something specific that the program I was using before wasn't doing. I used Music Brainz Picard for the embedding initially. My advice, don't use that crap!
Media Monkey worked great. I don't really like the interface, and it tried to hijack my computer a bit, but it actually worked for album art tag embedding best. Thanks Psycik for excellent support! Good to know. I don't tend to embed images much, preferring to have a .jpg in the directory. And since I can go right down the to song level I found that it does everything I need. But yes lately the odd single I have been embedding the art and have used mediamonkey for that or mp3tag
