I looked through some old posts and found where Sub told me to setup 2 different zap accounts because of my 2 cards with the 2 different lineups.

Dated 11-15-05 from Sub "GB-PVR will only process the first channel lineup. Try creating a second account for this extra channel lineup instead."
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=1661&page=3
It sounds like this statement from Sub might not apply anymore? Is that correct?

I'm going to start testing some things today to see what happens.

Thanks,
GaretMax
In each of the replies the answer given was correct for your question.
Sub was explaining how the native zap2it epg source works, and I was explaining how the xmltv source works when using the multi-lineup add-on.
Sub’s native zap2it plugin & xmltv are two completely different epg source choices when you’re in the gbpvr config utility.

If you want to play with it, the xmltv commands used to download the raw data file (and extract multiple lineups from a single account) are visible in the multi-lineup version of UpdateEPG.bat. I believe they were also discussed in previous posts in this thread.
For now, the workaround in my previous reply should allow you to use the multiple accounts you have setup.

Jim,

Using your workaround solution works great and just what I was looking for.Smile

I'm a little unsure of the priority recordings now and posted on a separate thread.

Glad it worked! Smile
I’m checking into updating the multi-listing support for v1.3 and above, but that’s a pretty simple workaround for now.

I’ve finished the v1.3c update and posted the latest package in the first post of this thread. I’ll put it on the wiki after a little more testing.

The update includes optional switches that add the Original-Air-Date to the subtitle, and enhanced multiple lineup support.
If you have multiple lineups configured in your single zap2it account, simply enter the number of lineups in this setting at the top of UpdateEPG.bat

Code:
REM *** User Settings ***
SET DaysOfEPG=7
[B]SET NumberOfLineups=1[/B]
A maximum of five (5) lineups are allowed, and a TVGuide.xml for each lineup will be placed in its own numbered folder.
Example:
C:\I-xmltv\Lineup-1\TVGuide.xml & FIND.xml
C:\I-xmltv\Lineup-2\TVGuide.xml
C:\I-xmltv\Lineup-3\TVGuide.xml

This allows people to maintain a single zap2it account with several lineups.
Only one file is downloaded from zap2it and the lineups are extracted from that file. Smile

If you’re upgrading from a previous version of I-xmltv be sure to backup your customized I-xmltv.ini and copy it over the one supplied in this update.

Ok, I don't understand the "Find Channel" feature. What is it and where is it used from? I can't see how to use it via the TVListings plugin, nor the Enhanced Web Admin.

Do I have to edit I-xmltv.ini to enable it?

I don't see a Channel 1 in my listings -- should I?

I'm trying to use "UseActorAsGenre". I've added the name to the I-xmltv.ini file:
- in the <UseActorAsGenre> section
- the top of the "FIND channel" section after "Clint Eastwood" (comma+space+name)
- all the way at the bottom in the Genrelist (even though that's probably wrong since Clint Eastwood is not in that list, but still appears in the Search dropdown in the listings)

Funny thing I've removed "ClassicSciFi" from I-xmltv.ini, but it still shows up in the Genre dropdown. ??? (I've run updateEPG.bat after every change)

I'm really confused. Smile

Yes the channel number is configured in I-xmltv.ini. It is very important that you choose a channel number that does not already exit in your lineup before you add the FIND channel to your guide.

By default, the FIND channel is a separate xmltv file located in the I-xmltv folder. “Find.xml” will not be added to your channel lineup unless you create a second capture source and use Find.xml for its epg source. (the second source can be your one-and-only capture card).

Another way (the simplest way) of adding the FIND channel to your lineup is by editing UpdateEPG.bat and changing a setting.
Change “SET TheFindChannel=0” to “SET TheFindChannel=1”
“0” creates a standalone file that requires the creation of a second capture source.
“1” Adds the FIND channel to your existing TVGuide.xml, so it will show in the guide and EWA without any other changes.

The FIND channel does nothing but occupy space in the EWA, it’s intended for the advanced “find more” feature found only in TVListings. Wink

You can remove “Clint Eastwood”, “John Wayne” & "ClassicSciFi" from both places, they’re just examples to show you how its done. If you have a bunch of genre entries you dont want in the list, this gbpvr command (see the the I-xmltv readme) will clear the genre list. Remember, using this command will also clear your color-coding.
“gbpvr –removeallgenre”

The <ConditionalGenre-#> and <UseActorAsGenre> searches you configure in I-xmltv.ini can be used by the EWA’s without using the find channel. The results are added to TVGuide.xml even when you do not have the FIND channel enabled.

An EWA example is selecting “New” for the genre type on the TV Guide page. Then you can page through the listings and only “new” shows will be listed.
Or select John Wayne on the "Episode Search" page to see all the shows he’s credited in. Or you can find all shows that match one of the <ConditionalGenre-#> searches you defined.

Ok, on to the actor as genre stuff…

When you add an actors name to the <UseActorAsGenre> list, a new genre will be added to the gbpvr database using the actors name. If and when a listing is found that gives credit to that actor.
If you want to search for actors using TVListings and the FIND channel, you also need to add the actors name to the genre list in in the bottom part of I-xmltv.ini.
The example I provided searches for both actors using a single timeslot & listing. If you want them listed separately, simply put each name on a separate line.

Hope this helps.

I have recently developed a problem in my tvguide. Namely not getting all my channels. If I point my epg to the xmltv.xml file it works, but when pointed to tvguide.xml it drops channels. I found the following entry in the config.exe.log file after trying a load from the tvguide.xml:

1/19/2007 2:09:33 AM.029 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Reading XMLTV file
1/19/2007 2:09:33 AM.373 ERROR [3] XMLTV: error reading xml: The 'sub-title' start tag on line 168948 does not match the end tag of 'sub-tit'. Line 168948, position 169.

And here is the line it is referring to from the tvguide.xml file

<sub-title lang="en">vania Game Chamber; Berkeley Designer Airstream; Scottsdale Copper Finish Fireplace; Chicago Urban Neoclassical; California Throwback Kitchen</sub-tit</sub-title>

It looks as if there is an extra partial ending tag for sub-title.

I am running ver 1.2. Since I didn't see this mentioned in any recent posts, I didn't know if an upgrade to 1.3 would fix it. I am great with 1.2 for now if it is something that can be fixed without upgrading Smile

thanks - my wife loves the record only new shows feature!

Hi, I tried this program not so long ago and I really liked it but unfortuneately, I could not get it to auto update the guide data so just went back to useing the regular cap2it method built into gbpvr.
