mlcporter Wrote:I have recently developed a problem in my tvguide. Namely not getting all my channels. If I point my epg to the xmltv.xml file it works, but when pointed to tvguide.xml it drops channels. I found the following entry in the config.exe.log file after trying a load from the tvguide.xml:

1/19/2007 2:09:33 AM.029 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Reading XMLTV file
1/19/2007 2:09:33 AM.373 ERROR [3] XMLTV: error reading xml: The 'sub-title' start tag on line 168948 does not match the end tag of 'sub-tit'. Line 168948, position 169.

And here is the line it is referring to from the tvguide.xml file

<sub-title lang="en">vania Game Chamber; Berkeley Designer Airstream; Scottsdale Copper Finish Fireplace; Chicago Urban Neoclassical; California Throwback Kitchen</sub-tit</sub-title>

It looks as if there is an extra partial ending tag for sub-title.

I am running ver 1.2. Since I didn't see this mentioned in any recent posts, I didn't know if an upgrade to 1.3 would fix it. I am great with 1.2 for now if it is something that can be fixed without upgrading Smile

thanks - my wife loves the record only new shows feature!

Yea it would be best to upgrade to v1.3 because I’ve moved on and wont be updating the older version. One of the v1.2 test builds had that problem, guess I released it by mistake.

<edit> I just checked my TVGuide.xml and that listing looks ok in v1.3</edit>
<title lang="en">Look What I Did!</title>
<sub-title lang="en">111- Pennsylvania Game Chamber; Berkeley Designer Airstream; Scottsdale Copper Finish Fireplace; Chicago Urban Neoclassical; California Throwback Kitc</sub-title>
<desc lang="en">(2007-01-15) Pennsylvania game chamber; renovated Airstream trailer; copper fireplace hood.</desc>

You shouldn’t notice any changes in the guide between v1.2 & 1.3, the new features are all optional and disabled by default. There will be an extra file called FIND.xml in the I-xmltv folder, but you can just ignore it.

You will need to use the new UpdateEPG.bat because some of the switches have changed. /pi is now /ni, /tp/-6 is now called /tn/-6.
It’s probably easiest to just delete the I-xmltv folder and start with a fresh install, but remember to keep your xmltv.exe (and I-xmltv.log if you want to).

What DoPeFiSh said!
If you moved UpdateEPG.bat to the gbpvr folder and it still doesn’t work, task scheduler is the easiest way to grab the listings.

Just make sure you check the box to Wake system if you sleep your pvr, I use Hibernate and it wakes every time.......

I have I-xmltv set for 14 days, and incremental... Lately, I'll see several holes in my listings only a couple of days from current.

The only way I have been able to get a chunk of listings is:

Change my 2 capture sources to get Zap2it data. Update. Works.

Then I switch back to using I-XMLTV and after it finishes the listings download, I update the guide in GB-PVR with the TVGuide.xml...

Is there a quick easy way to force a full two week re-download with xmltv ?

Hi zehd,
Switch back to non-incremental mode.
SET Incremental=0
Its been the default setting for several versions now because of the ongoing zap2it network issues some people are having. There's more information about it in the manual.

Hey, has anyone created a cool color set for TV Listings? I've tried several different colors, but haven't been able to come up with a combination that looks decent and/or is easy to read. I was wondering if anyone had come up with a good set, and if there was anyway to import them?

Thanks,
Kevin

I am new to GBPVR, so I suspect I am doing something wrong. I installed the TV Guide Supercharger, and it shows a asterisk for all new shows except for Primetime CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox series. For non primetime, it shows an asterisk for such garbage as SOAPS, but nothing doing for primetime series. It does show first play date, and that is todays date, but still no asterisk. In the Search Guide, I have no clue as to what is a rerun, and what is new.
Any suggestions?

Hi leecole,
It sounds like you have it installed properly because some new shows have the *. The default switch settings will work fine for the eastern timezone.

I can only guess, but you probably already had the shows (the ones without the new marker) scheduled to record.
Unless something has changed with GBPVR in the last few releases, it does not update the guide for “pending” & “conflict” shows.
You will only see new markers, and the updated subtitle-description information for show titles that are not already scheduled to record.

If this doesn’t match the problem you are seeing, please post a screen shot of the offending listing in the guide. Any listing that displays an original-air-date in the subtitle or description that matches the guide date will have a new marker.
There should be no exceptions unless GBPVR did not update the listing because of one of the reasons explained above.

Thanks for trying to help!
If I look at Listings, CBS 9:00PM - 10:30PM, both "NFL Football" (the super bowl) and "Criminal Minds" show today's date, but no asterisk. Right below that, on Fox, "Old School (2003){R}[2*]". My screen shots seem to be too large to upload. Now that I examine it closer, maybe it is only Movies that are showing the asterisk. Not even them, I see now that that is NOT PRIMIER symbol, but is star ratings.
