Using R5000-HD with Network Recorder Plugin

LOL ok.  Is the EPG updater in the NPVR 5 plugin slower than version4?  I know version 4 took some prodding but this one refuses to update.  Like how long may I have to wait?

Regarding Kodi, with NextPVR,I assume it supports HDHomerun Prime as well for LiveTV.  How nice is the Kodi client interface compared with Emby?  I may have to check it out.  Thanks for all your ntremendous support Martin!

I was able to improve the recording load and sub improved the channel list load so that part is better in v5 and I convinced Luke to not delete all the episode art each load which what taking 30% more time than necessary but it is still a pig.

Kodi with NextPVR uses all your tuners. The Kodi client look and feel is based on the skin but from a PVR perspective is more a STB experience. Emby (and the free jellyfin option) did a pretty nice web implementation, and is it more usable then NextPVR but when I want to watch TV or recordings I focus on playback and Kodi rules.

Martin, its been over 24 hrs and the EPG in Emby for the NextPVR R5000 channels still has not updated.  The channels still show no programming available.  I tried manually updating the guide without any change, but the other emby channels (HD Homerun, not from NPVR) did update.  The EPG with NPVR is updated.  When I copied the NPVR5 Emby plugin to the Emby server, I just dropped it into the plugins directory and set the IP and port.  I know you said the EPG update is slow, but after 24 hrs I'd assume it would have some guide data, since I currently only have 3 channels.  Is there anything else I should have to do to make sure Emby plugin gets the guide info from NPVR?

It is immediate when the task runs. Send the Emby logs and I will have a look.

Is PIN 0000 correct and are your sure that you have the premiere subscription enabled?

Does it have to be 0000, or just match between Emby server and NextPVR?  I set it to something different but set it the same in both places.  I will try setting to 0000 and try again.

BTW, it's only set on the Emby server right?  The wording in NextPVr says its "used to access from most other clients, such as our iOS and Android apps, NLite, Kodi, Emby".  But I don't see anywhere to set on Emby clients such as Shield, FireTV, so can I assume it is just for EPG access from the Emby server, correct?

No the PIN can can be whatever you want but they have to match. You only set it on the Emby server.

OK, cool.  I must have entered it wrong on the NPVR side.  I couldn't see what it was set to since its blanked out but after I reset it, it is working now.  Thank you.  I'm going to set up my additional channels now that all seems to be working good.  At some point I will ask for your expertise in helping me with setting up a second R5000.  But for now I want to just enjoy the fruits of all your hard work with one tuner.  Thanks you again Martin!!

A second device is likely trivial at this point (but I've said that before)

1. In r5000.py  modify the port

2.  Copy the the extra you made here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid530793 and change the name to

R5000HD-100413E

and save to whatever xml file you want in /var/opt/nextpvr (it shows in NextPVR)

3. Add the new extra in NextPVR, not sure if you can merge the two tuners for the EPG or not.
